THIS IS PROBABLY A TRAIN FOR SWANAGE BEING BROUGHT OUT OF THE SIDINGS. THIS HIGH VIEWPOINT GIVES A GOOD VIEW OF THE COMPLEX SET OF RODDING USED TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE LEVEL CROSSING GATES. NOWADAYS THE LEVEL CROSSING IS ADAPTED FOR CYCLISTS AND WHEELCHAIR USERS WITH ROAD TRAFFIC BEING CARRIED ON A NEW BRIDGE. THE CROSSING WAS A SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC BOTTLENECK.
