Ludisia and other terrestrial orchids do not grow well in the classic 'orchid bark' they can be grown in standard potting compost however care has to be very precise to prevent root rot when doing so.

Therefore we are offering this professional mix tried and tested by ourselves on both our Ludisia discolour & Alba as well as Pleione and Bletilla. All of which do well year after year.

Every bag is mixed to order it is guaranteed to be fresh.

The mix contains top quality sustainably sourced fine grade (5-8mm) pine bark chippings and low pH ericaceous compost offering a free draining yet moisture retentive acidic base substrate. It also includes: horticultural grade charcoal to remove salts & impurities, keeping the soil 'sweet' and horticultural medium 2-5mm grade perlite to warm, lighten and aerate the soil.

All my potting mixes are made to order, Organic and sterilised. They are always fresh the day they are shipped.

Comes in simple bags ready to use. ideal for home use. Each order receives a 1 litre volume. Enough to fill a 1litre (13cm diameter) pot when empty. I mix these to order so can complete others volumes upon request and do offer discounts on higher volumes.

I do my best to keep postage charges as low as possible, asking enough to cover the stamp and box only.
