If you have not purchased snowdrops before then please read carefully as a guide to what you will receive depending on your purchase time
January - Small shoots/Tight bud (about to flower)
February - Full bloom/ Flowers begin to die off
March - Flowers begin to die off/ No flowers green foliage
April - No flowers just green foliage and healthy bulbs, planting for next spring.
May-August - unavailable
September- December - Dry bulbs ready for planting to flower the following spring
Snowdrops are one of the first to flower in the spring season and are the most beautiful to see as they start to lift their beautiful delicate white heads out of the ground
They are normally in flower from January to March (weather permitting) They are ready to be planted as soon as you receive them ready to naturalise in their new surroundings to flower and enjoy again next spring.
Please do not leave them in the bag on arrival they need to be planted as soon as possible, I will not be held responsible if you leave the bulbs in the bag and they go mouldy. If you are unable to plant them within a day or 2 of receiving them then please remove them from the bag to allow them to air and store them in a very cool dry place ideally an outside shed and plant them as soon as possible.
It is best to plant the snowdrops in groups of around 20 planted 2- 3 inches deep into the garden, they grow particularly well in a partly shaded area of the garden.
Snowdrops should return year after year they are excellent for naturalising.
