“Red Track Among the Pines”,
Framed Watercolour, from the Estate of the Artist.

For sale is a beautiful original watercolour on paper by John Flexmore (1911 - 2004), a well-known Melbourne artist, a watercolour specialist, mainly of representational landscapes. He also painted in oils, and in his early days, made a considerable number of linotype prints. Flexmore’s works are very easy to live with, being very restful.

The picture depicts a a dirt red path wending its way through a clump of what I think are pine trees – a scene typical of the Australian country. Signed lower right, “John Flexmore ’60.” The picture is set in a gallery frame with a double-mount.

Size: the painted area measures about 27 x 36cm, including frame is 52.5 x 58.5cm, unpacked weight is about 2.2Kg.

Condition: the picture is in very good vintage condition, the colours are strong, vivid and vibrant, no fading. The frame and mount are excellent.
