A STUNNING MID-CENTURY MODERNIST EAMES ERA BROOCH MADE BY THE FAMED DANISH DESIGNER BORGE ALEXIS GODTBERGSEN, COPENHAGEN 1940-1987, OF A WINGED PEGASUS HORSE LEAPING OVER THE CLOUDS IN BLACK AND WHITE ENAMEL AND STERLING SILVER.
This is just a magnificent antique estate jewel! The design and craftsmanship on this brooch are absolutely of the highest quality. The brooch was made by the Danish silversmith Borge Alexis Godtbergsen whose mark is the AG on the piece. He worked in Copenhagen from 1940-1987. This piece is extraordinary. It features a winged horse or Pegasus, leaping over stylized clouds. The piece has a magnificent raised 3-D design with the horse in a raised design with white enamel. The clouds are lined with silver and also in white enamel. The images are offset by the stark black enamel of the background. This is tremendous Mid-Century jewelry making design!! Godtbergsen is in the category of the great silversmiths from Denmark including Georg Jensen, Anton Michelsen, Evald Nielsen and Henning Koppel!

The brooch is in excellent condition. There is no damage to the enamel. It is hallmarked with AG for the maker, 925S, Sterling, Denmark. The brooch is 40 mm by 29 mm.
