- The image area measures 21.2
x 26.8 cm [8½" x 10½"].
- The coverage area extends from Yunnan to the Sea of
Japan, including
Hainan, Formosa (Taiwan), Tonkin, the Imperial Canal, Canton, Peking,
Yellow Sea, Nanking, the Lekeyo islands, Tartary, Blue River, Honan,
Taypin
Islands, and Korea (spelled Corea).
- The map was published by Robert Wilkinson, London, 1803
in A General Atlas, being a Collection of Maps of the World
and Quarters the Principal Empires, Kingdoms &c. with their
several Provinces & other Subdivisions, Correctly Delineated.
- Longitude is measured from Greenwich, and the distance
scale is calibrated in British Statute Miles. The map is
titled "China,
Contains 15 Subject Provinces, including the 2 Islands of Hainan [and]
Formosa,
and the Tributary Kingdoms of Corea [and] Tonkin."
- Condition:
It is in very good condition,
with excellent detail and a crisp, bold impression, with vertical fold,
as issued, and no marks, rips, or tears. Please
