A 1964 first edition of this prize-winning Swedish children's fantasy story by Hans Peterson, originally titled "Liselott och Garaffen", here translated into English, with a dust-jacket design and numerous b&w illustrations by Ulla Sundin-Wickman

From the sleeve notes: - "Out of the woods one day came a curious creature with friendly eyes. Liselott knew at once that it was a quiffin, and that it belonged to her. The awful things that always seemed to happen to her, like being discovered with a cardboard box over her head and getting stuck up a tree, were somehow made better by having Quiffin. But even Quiffin was no substitute for the best friend she had left behind when she moved to her new home. Gradually, despite her shyness, Liselott found new friends. This enchanting story, told in Liselott's own words, won a prize as Sweden's best children's book for 1962."

The Contents are: - 1. Quiffin and I. - 2. How I found Quiffin. - 3. Building a House. - 4. The Storm. - 5. A Circus Performance. - 6. Playing at Puppet Shows. - 7. Birgit. - 8. The Girls. - 9. Making Friends. - 10. I Climb a Tree. - 11. Running Away.
