Vintage A&P Tea Co. Marked Handle Vintage Grocery Store Knife. I believe it was used as a butcher knife for carving and chopping meat.
Handle is marked with A & P TEA CO on one side and 38712R DEXTER on the other - handles is real wood, blade is carbon steel.
Great vintage Grocery Store Butcher Knife Meat Carving Knife - it's a recent estate find. This nice old vintage cleaver knife has no major damage, no chips, cracks or welds, just has the typical age and use wear would you expect an old grocery store butcher farm type knife would have. The handle is in good shape and tight and the pins are secure.
What's really cool about this particular knife is it has an additional index finger guard at the front, underneath side of the handle. It's approx 17.5" long, the blade approx 12" long and 2" wide at its widest point. This is a well built old knife. The knife has not been polished or sharpened by me. I will leave that for you to do as you see fit.
