The top plate of the DCD -3500 G has a dual structure of real wood and steel plate. In addition, the legs are 6.5 cm in diameter, and 4 of them are made of brass shaved large insulators totaling 1.8 kg.
The DAC is equipped with a newly developed Real 20 bit New Super Linear Converter. In the Super Linear Converter, zero cross distortion is eliminated by adding a correction signal using a conversion error correction circuit to the D/A converter. Unlike the dynamic bit shift method, which uses an attenuator and a switching circuit, this method does not cause nonlinear distortion. The zero cross distortion, which is a problem when the volume is low, is caused by the resistance error of the MSB, which is the most influential bit in the D/A conversion, and is corrected to eliminate distortion. Moreover, DCD -3500 corrects not only MSB but also 2SB, 3SB and 4SB up to 4 bits, eliminating distortion of the entire waveform. In addition, it uses a 2D/A method independent of the left and right channels to eliminate the L/R time difference. The D/A converter is an IC manufactured by Burbrown of the United States.
The digital filter uses an 8 times oversampling digital filter, and by increasing the sampling frequency by 8 times, the band gap between the music signal and the noise signal is widened, making it easy to remove noise components. This allows the use of lower-order analog filters to improve sound quality.
A super powerful twin power supply is used for the power supply unit, and a dedicated digital transformer and a dedicated analog transformer are installed, respectively, to eliminate the interference of digital noise to the analog circuit. In addition, the circuit board is divided into digital and analog circuits to completely eliminate mutual interference, and the analog circuit uses bus bar lines used in commercial equipment to reduce impedance and prevent high-frequency intrusion.
In order to prevent mutual interference between channels in analog circuits, a newly developed real 20 bit converter is used independently on the left and right sides, and the analog circuits after the converter are also completely independent of L/R along the signal flow.
A linear motor pickup mechanism is used in the pickup section to enable quick song selection and high-precision tracing. It is attached to the BMC (bulk molding compound) which has high rigidity and excellent vibration damping characteristics to enhance the vibration absorption effect. In addition, it is fixed to a large BMC mechanical chassis, and the vibration damping effect is enhanced by using metal and BMC alternately. The mechanical base is double floating from the mechanical chassis with low repulsion rubber and spring.
The chassis is fully copper plated to reduce radio noise and magnetostriction in space. In addition, the mechanism and power supply, which may generate vibration, and the circuit system, which is affected by vibration, are divided into two parts by a copper plated partition at the center, eliminating the effect of internal vibration on sound quality. The bottom is made of 2 sheets of steel laminated on a vibrate plate, a 1.6 mm thick steel plate and a 4-layer copper plated chassis.

Some of the electrolytic capacitors on the boards of the audio section, control section, and servo section have been replaced with the ES series, based on the KZ series, which is well known for its high-quality audio products. Since the electrolytic capacitor is a highly consumable part, even if it makes sound normally, it may cause noise degradation and noise. If a certain amount of time has passed, it will need to be replaced.
Regarding the appearance, there is a crack in the front lower corner and the back lower corner of the left side of the wood cover, and the back lower corner of the right side has been repaired. Other than that, there are no ugly scratches that could damage the function.
