The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is grained. 

Obverse at the top - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and a circular inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center - a stylized image of the city and an angel hovering over it, framed by a ribbon with the inscription АНЁЛ-АХОЎНІК (GUARDIAN ANGEL); under it the face value: 1 RUBLE, on the right -  the year of issue.

Reverse of the coin features the stylized image of the Angel hugging a newborn in the center.
