You are bidding on Vintage 1950's Size Medium/Large (according to measurements) Gene Shelly Heavily Beaded Gold Cream Lambswool Cardigan. This sweater belonged to either my step-mother or step-grandmother, I found it carefully stored in a trunk that contained clothing from the 1950's and 1960's.

The pictures do not give this sweater justice. The beading is magnificent - they definitely don't make things the way they did 70 years ago.

This is a heavy sweater due to all of the beading (1.3 pounds). Sweater is made of 70% Lambswool, 20% Rabbit Angora and 10% Nylon (lining). Sweater features gold buttons, and there is an extra one on the interior lower front (see 7th photo). The sweater is also lined except for the arms.

There is a 3/4" stain on the upper right back shoulder area (see 9th photo), a hole on the right upper arm, 1 3/4 down from shoulder seam (10th photo), and several small holes on the back that I didn't even notice until I held it up to the light (11th and 12th photos, in my opinion, the beading distracts your eye from it). If you wish, I would be happy to provide you with additional close up photos since I ran out of photo allotment. I did notice when you button the sweater that the button holes must be a little big because it doesn't take much for it to become unbuttoned.

Since there is not a size tag, make sure to check the measurements below to make sure this stunning sweater will fit you.
