Monet was founded in 1919 by brothers Michael & Joseph Chernow as a monogramming business. The Company did so well that in 1934 they hired a designer with a background from Cartier & entered the Costume jewelry Market. The designer, Edmond Mario Granville, would remain with the Company until his death in 1969. Their Popularity surged following WWII, as their high quality, clean & Tailored designs appealed to the new female workforce. Monet designs are highly collectible to this day & have stood up amazingly to the test of time.
