This photo was taken by photographer and early northwest filmmaker Beverly Dobbs, who sold his negative collection to the Lomen Brothers who released his photo under their name. The Lomen Brothers, Carl, Harry, Alfred and Ralph, operated their photography studio out of Nome, Alaska from 1900 to 1934. Their family moved there from Minnesota drawn by tales of the Gold Rush. They documented arctic life for the first decades of the 20th Century.
