Offering an original vintage Photogravure of a Leslie Krims Photo "Balloon".  This sheet fed gravure was printed in the U.S. in 1970. The image is 7.5x5" and is professionally wax tissue heat mounted on 14x11" acid free conservation board, suitable for framing and display. It is a standard frame size, for "ready made" or custom framing. This is a vintage photogravure and not a modern reproduction.

Leslie Robert Krims is a conceptualist photographer living in Buffalo, New York. He is noted for his carefully arranged fabricated photographs (called "fictions"), various candid series, a satirical edge, dark humor, and long-standing criticism of what he describes as "leftist twaddle".

A photogravure is the most sophisticated of the photomechanical printing processes. The image isn't made in a darkroom. Rather, the photographer's negative is transferred onto a copper plate, which is used to print or engrave the image with ink. Photogravures have a very sensual, almost velvety quality, and were far superior to alternative photomechanical processes of the time. Vintage Photogravures are very collectible and a way to enjoy vintage photography.
