This is an 18th century Reproduction stock buckle. The buckle was made from an original four prong stock  buckle, however the original was made in silver. We have made this buckle in white bronze to keep the cost down. White bronze looks much like silver and has more strength than silver. The buckle measures 2" x 1" on the outside of the ring, the inside measurement is 1 3/4". The buckle was used with a linen or horse hair stock and was worn around the neck, under your shirt collar. We own an original buckle and this buckle is a close copy of the one we own, we also own the mold for this particular buckle. The buckle is suitable for mid 18th century use. The stock does not come with this it is just the buckle.
