What others have said about the Stoney Capo (Taken from customer reviews left on our capo website):
- My Stoney 5th string banjo capo arrived this week from the UK. This is an excellent product which is made of high quality materials and stays in place very nicely via a small suction cup which attaches to the back of the banjo neck. It also comes with its own custom made "draw-string" type bag. Great value which cost me about $18.00 US and was made and shipped from the UK.
- I was looking for a 5th string capo that didn’t have to screw permanently to the neck or require drilling spikes into the fretboard. The Stoney Capo is the instant solution I was after as it is to use on a banjo with a great sentimental value. I wanted to protect the finish and when I saw this had a rubber sucker I knew it was the one for me. I was amazed at the very fast delivery and the whole process from placing the order to it being delivered within a couple of days was a dream. Thank you for an awesome and easy to use piece of kit. - GarryP
- This
is just the best option for a 5th string capo. Nothing nailed or
screwed into the neck of your banjo. Easy on and off. Doesn't scratch up
your neck. Does a great job of fretting the string down the neck.
Amazing that nobody else ever came up with this ingenious idea. It's a
simple and effective solution that doesn't harm your instrument and
sounds great - Joe T
- How did it take so long
to invent this? Works great so far -- also works as a partial capo for
the treble strings! We'll see how well it holds up under stage lights,
but for now, I'm very impressed. - Mel V
- This
Stoney capo caught my eye - and on trying it out I find it easier to
put on, off and move to different positions than the elastic one. It's
also better made and less likely (in fact, completely unlikely!) to
damage the neck of the banjo. Works a treat!
- Best 5th string capo I have ever tried and much cheaper than some, many thanks - John
- Excellent
product. Works well, easy to use and arrived in good time. I'm
surprised such a simple solution wasn't thought of sooner. ~ Tom
- The
capo is comfortable, takes up little space, the placement is easy, it
holds well on the neck to the different frets, the sound is clear. Very
useful! Thank you very much for your kindness. I highly recommend your
site. ~ Davide
- brilliant little capo just the ticket many thanks happy pickin ahead ~ Jed
- Hello,
this message just to let you know that I received my package and I am
very happy with this purchase. The capo takes up little space, the
placement is easy and it comes off easily, it holds well on the neck to
the different frets, the sound is clear, it does not bother the game on
the fret concerned. It is reasonably priced (especially for two pieces).
Thank you very much for your kindness and efficiency 10/10. I highly
recommend your site. ~ Jean
- "I
received my bespoke Stoney capo yesterday and am delighted to say it
works! You told me it would be close and it is, but it achieves the
desired suction and looks very tidy. I can not begin to thank you enough
for your exemplary service and quality of after service care. I have
already spoken highly of your product and customer relations to friends
and I look forward to many years of use from my new capos and welcome
the enquiries about where I got such a unique product with relish
Knowing I shall be able to speak of the rather excellent shopping
experience you have provided." Rooh M
- "I
had your capo delivered this morning and tried it out straight
away......I own 4 banjos and tried it out on all of them it worked well
on all my instruments both at the seventh and ninth frets. So it really
does what it says on the tin. Well done!" Robert
To use simply place the Stoney Capo on the banjo at the required 5th string fret, press
lip of capo onto 5th string with your thumb and firmly press the
suction cup onto the back of the banjo neck. As easy as that, a matter
of seconds to fit and remove. No tools required.
Try it, you won't be disappointed, and with our 30 day no quibble money back guarantee you have nothing to lose.
Please note We
are able to adapt the capo to suit narrower necks (where strings are
closer together) as well as unusual shaped necks such as the old Buckbee
V-shaped neck (please see Rooh M's review above). If you have been
struggling with other 5th string banjo capos, please get in touch with
the problems you are having and we will see if we can come up with a
bespoke solution for your particular needs.
In
the unlikely event of your not being happy with this 5th string capo,
please return to us within 30 days of receipt and we will refund your
payment to you as soon as we receive your returned item. Normal return
policies apply.
Please
Note: This fifth string capo will only work on banjos with a gloss
(varnish) finish. The suction cup cannot get an airtight seal on matt
natural wood finishes and although some enthusiasts have added clear
tape to overcome this problem on matt finishes, we do not recommend you
do this.
