Plan of "Prison de L'Abbaye" - Circa 1830 - (Paris prison)

This product data sheet is originally written in English.

Up for sale is a Map, titled "PLAN OF PRISON DE L'ABBAYE". Circa 1830

The prison de l’Abbaye was a Paris prison in use from 1522 to 1854. The final building was built by Gamard in 1631 and made up of three floors, flanked by two turrets and an échauguette. It was the scene of one of the bloodiest episodes of the French Revolution.

It is not matted or framed. It measures approximately 16" x 9 1/2", including the border area.

Generally, the piece is in Fair Condition. There is some age related browning and some spotting. Some nicks and chips along the edges of the border. Pencil writing by a previous owner in the border area. Some stains, discoloration and creases.

It would look great framed!

Other dings here and there. Will ship flat.

Please email with questions and see my store for other great items.
