This Handwoven Mexican Rebozo was made in Tenancingo, Estado de Mexico, Mexico. Woven by artisans on a colonial style Spanish loom by a family owned business. The material fabric (Pure Cotton) is woven and Finished off with superiorly intricate macrame. This is a true treasure and is one-of-a-kind, as no two handmade rebozo's are exactly alike.

A little background for those unfamiliar and yearning for knowledge. The rebozo is one of the most representative, if not the most, of Mexican culture as it anchors origins of Mexican culture in it's Indigenous and Spanish influence.

This rebozo, like others I am selling, is traditionally handcrafted on colonial looms. These rebozos are not mass produced and are becoming harder to obtain due to the handwoven skills and techniques used to make the rebozos becoming less familiar with the younger generations. Each and Every Rebozo made and sold from my family's business has numerous hours of craftsmanship put into creating the finished product. Also, all fabric material used in our Rebozos are from the highest quality available. We do not use cheap or inferior fabrics to make our product.

Uses:

Adaptable as a baby carrier, scarf, or shawl. Also serves as a table-runner or at the foot of a bed with the fringe hanging at the sides.

Cleaning and Storage

I Suggest combing the fringe with a soft hairbrush or comb every now and then.

Texture is super soft and luxurious, hand washing is recommended as to keep the threads on the fringe from tangling.

We do not recommend soaking. Spot cleaning with mild soap for food stains is totally fine and I suggest adding some salt to the water to help keep the colors from fading.

A lot of rebozos are kept in special boxes made of cedar or another wood that is bitter, to keep moths off.

*It should be noted that the listed and pictured rebozo is of the highest quality and has no defects (i.e. snags, runs, tears, etc.) in the material or finished product.

*Also, due to the computer monitor settings you are using on your monitor, the color of the rebozo may be slightly different (i.e. darker or lighter) than what is seen on your computer screen.

Please send me a message if you have any questions regarding my listed rebozos. I will be glad to respond and help you the best I can.
