Cocobolo is an exotic wood that is one of the heaviest, densest woods in the world.

It is seen in a variety of colors, ranging from yellow, orange, red, and shades of brown with streaks of black or purple.

It has small to medium sized pores and a fine texture. The grain can sometimes be interlocked.

Like most rosewoods, Cocobolo has natural oils that give it excellent resistance to water absorption and decay.

Tips for Use

For edge burnishing, you may want to use saddle soap and water. Glycerin soap also works well.

Simply wet the edge of the leather and then add either saddle soap or glycerin for a fine burnished edge.

You may also wish to use gum tragacanth, beeswax or blended wax depending upon the result that you are looking for.

The speed used for this burnisher should be between 1000-1500 rpm.

Use caution not to use excessive rpm to avoid burning the edge.
