Here’s the original artwork (acrylic on paper) I created for the bandana print almost a year ago. I completed this right after shelter in place started and I had no idea today’s release was the one year anniversary of the official announcement of the shutdown here in the US. I decided to release the prints today in honor of my brother getting the keys to his new home (crazy timing). Here’s some words I shared in my newsletter behind the project that I felt was right to share here as well.

I spent my time working on the bandana print because this piece really reflects a moment in time that we have all shared together. This piece was created originally out of the idea of having to wear a face covering and wondering what I would do with it after this moment passes.

Last year, when the pandemic first hit and shelter-in-place was in effect, I was the only person leaving the house usually to get groceries. It was a surreal moment waiting in lines and coming back home having the family hope I did my best to not come in contact with COVID. With this in mind, I created this artwork representing myself and my family.

If you look at the design, you see a circle in the center representing me. On all four corners, you see four circle-like forms which represent my wife and three kids. This is also the first time I have put a representation of myself into my work.

As you know, we are all experiencing one of the craziest moments in history together and I hope this piece is a keepsake for you as it is for me.

The response from you all today was amazing and to answer the questions if there will be more in the future the answer is yes.
