Jeep Commander XK/XH 2006 to 2010 Swirl motor emulator, fitting all Mercedes / Jeeps / and Chryslers fitted with Mercedes OM642 V6 Diesel CRD engine

This little plug in device emulates power drawn from a functioning swirl motor 'fooling' the car into thinking all is well. Eradicates P2015 / Swirl Motor DTC codes / MIL and ETC lights and will remove Limp Mode.

Easy to fit as follows -

  1. Remove engine cover taking care not to lose any of the 4 rubber fixing grommet.

  2. Locate Turbo intake pipe (thick black pipe routed from air box to Turbo).

  3. Remove by gently pulling the inch or so diameter breather pipe from intake pipe.

  4. Undo/loosen sir clip at both air box and Turbo side of air intake pipe.

  5. Gently remove air intake pipe.

  6. Locate swirl motor connector directly below Turbo inlet.

  7. Note, at this point some harnesses/connectors are behind a metal bracket which does not allow removal of the harness. Remove visible  torque bolts and ease out the bracket so as to allow removal of the connector / harness.

  8. Undo connector by pushing on slider tab whilst easing connector outwards (note this can be a faff. If it is not disconnecting easily you do not have the lock tab in the correct position. Do not force once the tab is in the correct position the connector will undo easily).

  9. Ensure receiving connector from car side harness is clean, free of grease and oil and also ensure metal pins within connector are clean and straight.

  10. Plug in swirl emulator to the car side of the harness (only plugs in one way) and locate swirl emulator somewhere secure and away from heat sources.

  11. Reverse installation to complete.

  12. MIL and ETC lights should extinguish immediately or within 5 or 6 successful key turns/engine starts. A code reader may be used to delete any historic codes.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION FOR EVERY MOTOR ISSUE, i.e. IT'S APPLICATION IS SPECIFIC TO SWIRL MOTOR FAILURE AS INDICATED.

Please be sure that you properly diagnose your fault as a swirl motor failure by identifying a swirl / intake manifold runner DTC code via a vehicle code read PRIOR TO PURCHASING e.g. we do not lend these out i.e. send to you so you can see if you have a swirl issue by trying the device and then accept a return if it doesn't work because your vehicle doesn't in actuality have a swirl motor issue. Please do not just purchase on an assumption that your MIL / ETC light is on because of a swirl issue expecting that our device will solve it. Yes it will solve Swirl Failure issues, but it won't do anything for other common OM642 issues such as EGR faults, DPF faults, Glow Plug faults etc. etc. all of which can cause your MIL and ETC warning lights to come on.
