Lovely medium sized brass vase with some fine scratching to the brass metal finish on the uppermost part of the vase, from over zealous cleaning.  The vase also has a small ding during to one side of the base, but is in relatively good condition considering its age.  The surface is varnished to protect the brass from parish, and so cannot be cleaned the way other brass objects might be.  This surface appears intact except where it has has been over cleaned - around the top, and rim.

Vase has the WMF ostrich mark underneath and is numbered 175 for the design and size of the vase.

Art nouveau, jugenstil, secessionist and deco metalware from WMF was often designed by prominent german designers from these periods, is now a highly sought after and becoming a valuable collectable overseas.
