This is an Exquisite and seldom found, German, miniature jointed wooden doll, circa 1830, with a wonderful early brush stroke hairstyle. measuring just about 2 1/2” long with all original, plaid silk gown, petticoat and full apron. She has the most detailed facial features including dark blue eyes, brows, nostril dots, sweet tiny lips and brush stroke, curly black hair covering her ears. She has joints at her shoulders, elbows and hips (with little spoon type hands with separate thumbs and is missing only her lower jointed tiny legs (which are not visible beneath her gown and could be fashioned with clothes-pin type wood to match her wooden body with original finish). She has no repainting or repairs and is truly a treasure and would be right at home in an antique dollhouse or doll room.
