Revell Vintage Decal Sheet 8648 (1983) 1:32 Nike Ajax SAM History Maker 6835

This is the original Revell decal sheet from a rare History Maker model kit, the Nike Ajax Surface-to-Air Missile with Launcher. Colorful decal from the age of cool missiles! This is the 1983 decal sheet, but can also be used for older versions of the model. Decal sheet is unused, in superb, glossy, as-new condition, flat, no cracks, ready for application. Size of decal sheet is 4⅝″ X 2″.

The US Army’s Nike Ajax MIM-3 (Mobile Interceptor Missile, design 3) was the world’s first operational surface-to-air missile (SAM), entering service in 1954. Nike Ajax protected the USA from Soviet Union conventional bomber aircraft flying at below-supersonic speeds at altitudes of 50,000 feet and higher. Some missiles remained in use until the 1970s.
