Cucumber Extract (CUCUMIS SATIVUS):An extract with skin firming properties and anti-inflammatory action has a refreshing, soothing effect on skin. Cucumber Extract is also known for its emollient properties. It contains high amounts of both amino and organic acids that are beneficial to the skin’s acid mantle. Cucumber Extract removes impurities, reduces oiliness and refines the appearance of pores, making it beneficial for normal as well as oily or acne skin types. Cucumbers also have a long, natural-medicinal history, reputedly used by Cleopatra to preserve her skin. Traditionally, cucumber slices have also been used to remove dark circles from the area underneath the eyes as well as reduce puffiness.

Aloe Vera: The virtues of the Aloe Vera plant have been recorded by many great civilizations, from those of Persia and Egypt in the Middle East, Greece and Italy in Europe, to India, Japan and the Asian continent. Topically, it has been proven to counteract wrinkling of the skin, scarring, etc. It is very beneficial on burned, sunburned and environmentally exposed skin and also after laser treatments, micro-dermabrasion or chemical peels. Scientific studies show that it stimulates cellular regeneration and also has been shown to have astringent, emollient, antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Panax ginseng: Panax ginseng is one of the most highly researched species of ginseng and has been an important herbal remedy in traditional eastern medicine for thousands of years. Its benefits for improving energy and vitality and enhancing the immune system have scientifically documented in numerous published studies. Ginseng is referred to as an adaptogen. The term “adaptogen” connotes an agent that purportedly “increases resistance to physical, chemical, and biological stress and builds up general vitality, including the physical and mental capacity for work.” It is used in skincare to increase the skin's ability to tolerate physical stresses that cause pre-mature aging, wrinkling, and dryness.
