Unique Sterling Silver Hand Crafted Upcycled Flexi-Ring By SoniaMcD

I melted down old, broken, sterling silver jewelry to make wire used in fashioning this ring.  I've made this ring so it can be adjusted from approximately size 5 to size 7.5 by looping two ends of the wire over each other.  Pulling apart the ring increases the diameter making it bigger and squeezing it together makes it smaller.  The design of the ring limits how far the ring can be pulled apart making it less prone to breakage.

The amethyst and the rhinestone center stars are from sterling silver earrings that have lost their mates.

When I designed my flexi-rings I had two things I wanted to accomplish.  I wanted to design a ring that could stretch enough to fit over my arthritic knuckles and then tightened so it wouldn't spin on my finger and I wanted to repurpose old jewelry into unique pieces of art

The top of the ring measures 1 3/8 by 3/4 inches.

The wire is 1.4mm and the total weight of the ring is 5.4 grams.
