This vintage runner rug is called "Filikli Tulu" referring to "flokati" style long-piled handmade rugs made in the past for by the traditionally nomadic people now settled in Central Anatolia for their own homes. This particular cream colored runner rug is made of tufts of local Angora (Mohair) goats' wool, hand-knotted on a woolen flat-weave/kilim.

"Tulu" rugs are very popular in the design world for their simple and often minimalist designs, comfort and practicality of usage as a floor covering, wall hanging or sofa throw. They are also considered as objects of collectible folk and textile art as well as being functional and decorative rugs.
