An exceptional 50s style cocktail sheathdress with matching jacket is the perfect example of Old Hollywood-styleglamour. It was made-to-measure in the early 50s in New York City, butthe rare and phenomenal black and gold silk brocade (damask)jacquard fabric was acquired in Eastern Europe in the 1930s. 

The cut and details are of a hautecouture level - the work of a masterful designer - and the conditionis perfect (perhaps worn only once and stored meticulously). Not only isit is  and has a beautiful story behind it:

Exceptional Fabric!

This is a RARE gold brocade of flowersset against a black, silk chiffon/taffeta background - incredibly soft, blacksilk from anEastern European fashion textile manufacturer in the 1930s. Unlikethe vast majority of brocades, this one doesn’t scratch and is feather-light,has a soft “hand”, and fantastic drape. This brocade is so light and airy, youcan even wear it in the summer!

Design and Cut:

Not only is the design exquisite, but thecutis very feminine while being comfortable. The bombshell sheath dresshas a 100% silk chiffon scarf detailing that peaks sweetly out from underthe box jacket (must see photos!).

The tailored bust, waist and hips createa very sexy but elegant fit.  The finishings and details are exceptional -truly couture quality.
