This is a superb piece of Original Irish Art, a Watercolour Painting of an Irish landscape, titled ‘Sheep Grazing in Dunaff, Donegal’, by the Irish artist Deirdre Hiscocks, who has signed it to the bottom right, please see photos.

A native of Enniskillen, but now living and painting from her studio in Cultra, Holywood County Down, Deirdre Hiscocks studied Art under Kathleen Bridle and encouraged by her gained the Final Certificate (Honours) from the Royal Drawing Society in London.

She graduated in Art and Design with a Distinction from Stranmillis College and later studied life drawing and ceramics at Belfast Art College. She is a former Head of Art and Design in two of Belfast’s Schools.

She enjoys painting out of doors and gains inspiration from the beauty of natural forms, and is well known in the Belfast art scene and further afield.

She has served as a committee member of the UWS, USWA, and ASU and exhibits with these groups, and has also exhibited with the RUA and has had work published in The Leisure Painter. She has been the recipient of many awards including The Max Macabe Trophy, USWA, Morton Newspaper Award, Ulster Bank Award, ASU, Still Life Award USWA, President's Award ASU and The Bradbury Graphics Award, UWSA.

This super original landscape painting by her features sheep grazing in the Dunaff area or Donegal and looks fabulous.

Dunaff is a townland in the Urris Valley, located in the North-West corner of the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal.

The painting is double mounted within a contemporary grey coloured wooden frame and is behind glass ready to hang and enjoy, displaying beautifully.

It measures 63 cm x 53 cm including the frame.
