This vintage Central Anatolian area rug has two linked geometric medallions in deep-saturated gold that are decorated with abstract stars against a plain field in vivid raspberry red. The corner-pieces in dark indigo feature a dense pattern of red abstract floral heads in latticed form. The main border in gold is filled with simply drawn floral heads and leafy vines in pink, pale red, light blue, ivory and yellow. The rug is hand knotted with natural sheep's wool, has soft medium pile, in good condition and sturdy. Its soft and vibrant color palette, rectilinear outlines and quirky design have a joyful tribal vibe to it. It could be a great complementary piece for contemporary, boho, eclectic and Mid-Century Modern interiors.
