For sale is a matching pair of re-engineered left and right rear speaker grille covers for 1986-1991 w126 chassis Mercedes vehicles.

YES, these are relatively expensive.   If there was a way for me to manufacture them cheaper and sell them for less, believe me, I WOULD.  However, the $500 price is $250 per side, which is only $100 more than the average sale price of a used, brittle unit that is on the brink of failure.  So you're basically paying only $100 over used price for each side for a brand new, perfect piece.

These are not mass produced, and there is not enough demand to justify a large production run, so my up front costs and per-unit costs are higher, and I am unable to accept lower offers at this time.   Used ones are available for much less, with the caveat that the used ones will ALL be super brittle and very prone to breakage, and may break upon the slightest of impacts (such as a magazine or umbrella being tossed on top of them) no matter how "nice" they look in photos.   They are nearly impossible to install or remove without breaking.  My design will not have this problem.  The plastic is not only significantly stronger, but also much more UV resistant than the original factory design.

In addition, many hours were spent testing various designs and test-fitting these to ensure no fitment issues.   Extensive time and effort has went into R&D to make this design better than the original one designed by Mercedes.  The geometry of these covers is highly complex and they were not simple to engineer.

There may be some fine lines and machine marks on these pieces, because each of these is made one at a time, and these cannot be avoided, and are a by product of the manufacturing process.  Nonetheless, they will be a massive upgrade for w126 enthusiasts who are tired of unsightly cracked rear speaker covers.

NOTE ON COLOR:  Although photographed in some of the more common colors (gray, blue, palomino, black), the seller can paint the covers to closely match any color the buyer desires, or he can leave them unpainted (in white).  Buyer should send the seller a message through ebay's message system with photo of color they are trying to match.  The seller will get "close" to that color, but will not guarantee an absolutely "perfect" color match.  However, if you are restoring a low mile or show car and insist on an absolutely perfect color match, then the seller asks that you mail in your existing trim and the seller can arrange (at your expense) to have a paint custom mixed to match your exact specification.

NOTE ON LEAD TIME:  Since these are printed on demand and also custom painted as well, I will only manufacture new units after an order is placed. Please allow for an approximately 20 business day lead time from the time you place your order until the time it is ready to be shipped out.
