I sell this by dry weight. I have multiple qty's available at checkout, the more you purchase the better the value. If ordering a small qty, please don't be disappointed if you receive a small qty.

• Crushed coral is an excellent and natural way to raise and buffer the PH, GH & KH levels in all fresh water aquariums, a small amount will help raise & buffer your PH levels, unlike using chemicals that need to be measured out every time you do a water change and then require constant adjustment you can simply just add this either to you tank by scattering it amongst your gravel/ substrate. For better results you can add it to your filter or where water flow is faster.

• It's also a great way of increasing the waters Calcium in your aquarium which will benefit shrimp and snails.

• A rough guide, 100g will be suitable for a substantial period in tanks up to 100 Ltrs

• But please research yourself to get a more accurate guide depending on your setup and desired outcome. Feel free to ask any questions.

You can sprinkle the crushed coral directly onto your substrate, for a more vigorous effect it can be added to a location where water flow is greatest. I place a bit in my filter sump with my activated carbon.

I recommend rinsing all substrates you purchase before you add then to your tank. It'll helps wash away any small particles avoid any cloudiness which may take a little while to clear. It is not actually required to rinse though and if your setup is OK the very small particles do help speeding up its action. (larger surface area.).

 The only crushed coral with aragonite, which provides up to 25 times the buffering power of other crushed corals, dolomite, or oyster shell. This substrate will naturally help maintain higher pH (8.2+) and provides maximum surface area for water purifying bacteria. Can be used with calcium and essential trace elements such as strontium. May be used in traditional undergravel filtered systems or reverse flow beds. This is also a good choice for fish only marine aquariums at 1 pound per gallon.

IN ADDITION

A Bit of general product advice from myself, as a number of people do ask how much they need and how long will it last. Hopefully you may find the below info useful.

There are so many variables to consider when deciding how much to purchase and add. The product dissolves in slightly acidic conditions, similar to how acidic rain very slowly dissolves limestone. In the process it neutralises the acidic rain.

If you’re after a PH slightly higher than 7, this product is great but how much do you need? There are a number of factors to bear in mind. Water temperature and tank volume, this product acts faster in warmer conditions, so acts slower in a cold-water setup. Also, the more acidic you water that faster it will neutralise it, so if you’re wanting a more gradual effect / change. Add a little to start with and a bit more each week until you’ve got to your acidity levels under control or to where you want them. Water flow is also a consideration. Faster water flow over the product will also speed things up. So, if you put it in your filter or hang near the pump outlet this will speed things up. Again, if you want a slower effect consider laying in or on the tank’s substrate.

Finally, the product is natural, but does not contain any contaminates to be concerned about. But in transportation it does break down to create very small particles. If you don’t want to cloud your water, I recommend rinsing the substrate. But if you want a very fast reaction (you have water acidity issue). You may not want to do this. The smaller particles dramatically increase the products surface area, they will settle and dissolve very quickly so they can be useful to give you a quick result, neutralising unwanted acidity.

In saying all of the above, know your own set up. Try to understand why you’re experiencing unwanted acidity. This could be coming from a number sources, dead plan, dead fish, over feeding, acidic tap water (water changes).

Finally, like anything, little and often is better when adding things to your tank, then a bit of patience, add a bit more a few days later if desired.
