Note su Joseph KALIHER : Joseph Kaliher nasce in una comunità di hippies vicino a Ranger, Texas - Stati Uniti d’America. All’età di due anni segue la madre in Italia, insieme al suo secondo marito, il Duca Emanuele Canevaro di Zoagli. Cresce tra Italia ed Inghilterra, terminando gli studi secondari a Leicester nel collegio dei Padri Rosminiani. Riceve lezioni private nella tradizione d’arte classica dal Maestro Maurizio Martelli dell’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Firenze, e si diploma quindi al rinomato Institut Superieur de Peinture Van Der Kelen et Longelain a Bruxelles, dove si specializza in pittura trompe l’oeil, faux bois et marble alla maniera fiamminga, sotto la tutela di Clemente Van Der Kelen.

Kaliher è molto apprezzato nel jet set internazionale : collabora con Paloma Picasso nel suo atelier di Firenze, e con il famoso architetto Michele Bonan. Annovera tra i suoi estimatori il Marchese Ludovico Antinori, famoso produttore di vini, il Principe Colonna di Napoli, il Conte Walfredo Della Gherardesca, i gioiellieri Vennari e gli industriali Demico e Collini, le famiglie Ferragamo e Modestini.

Alcuni talk shows televisivi usano le scenografie di Kaliher, e nel 1996  l’artista è ospite dello show televisivo Artseen, diretto dal famoso Will Rabinovitch, a New York. Dopo l’11 Settembre, partecipa all’Art Expo di New York. Da allora si accentua l’aspetto sociale dell’opera di Kaliher, valore aggiunto determinante per la storicizzazione di un artista che non rifiuta il confronto con il quotidiano.

Attualmente le sue opere si trovano, tra le altre, nelle collezioni della Fondazione Enrico Coveri, ed al Museo di Arte contemporanea di Villa Demidoff a Firenze.

Nel mese di dicembre 2012 inizia la collaborazione di Joseph KALIHER con Luca Sforzini Arte, Galleria d’Arte italiana ed internazionale. Luca Sforzini definisce il suo inconfondibile stile, fiabesco, apparentemente allegro, densissimo di richiami simbolici e profonde riflessioni sull’animo umano, “Nuovo Simbolismo Surrealista”. Joseph Kaliher ne è un indiscusso Maestro.

Notes on Joseph KALIHER :  Joseph Kaliher was born in a hippy community near Ranger, Texas, U.S.A. At the tender age of 2 years old he followed his mother along with her second husband, the Duke Emanuele Canevaro of Zoagli. He grew up between Italy and England, terminating his secondary studies in a Catholic College of Rosminian Fathers. He received private lessons in the tradition of classical arts from the Master Maurizio Martelli of the Fine Arts Academy of Florence. He thus achieved a diploma at the reknown Institut Superieur de Peinture Van Der Kelen et Longelain in Bruxelles, where he specialized in the techniques of “trompe l’oeil”, faux bois et marble of flemish tradition, under the guide of Clemente Van Der Kelen.

Kaliher is met with great appreciation by the international jet set : collaborating with Paloma Picasso in his atelier in Florence, and with the famous architecht Michele Bonan. Amongst his appraisers there are many illustrious figures and collectors, such as the Marquis Lodovico Antinori, the Prince Colonna of Naples, the Count Walfredo Della Gherardesca, the jewelers Vennari and the industrials Demico and Collini, as for the Ferragamo and Modestini families, and many more.

Some talk shows use his scene-paintings, and in 1996 the Artist is guested on the Television Show “Artseen”, directed by the famous Will Rabinovitch in New York. After September 11^th he attends Art Expo New York. From then onwards Kaliher places a major emphasis on the social aspect of his work, an extra asset for the historicization of an artist who does not refuse a confrontation with daily affairs.

His works may be found in many prestigious Art collections, such as the Fondazione Enrico Coveri, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Villa Demidoff in Florence.

In the month of December 2012 Joseph Kaliher starts off his collaboration with Luca Sforzini Arte, Italian and international Art Gallery. Luca Sforzini defines this inconfoundable style of his as “New Surrealist Symbolism”. His art seems fairytale-like, apparently cheerful and dense with symbolic references and profound reflections regarding the human soul. What is certain is that Joseph Kaliher is an undisputed Master.
