Being offered on this auction is very
nice set of two vanity jars or perfume / soap containers made in Germany
during EAMES era – right after WWII. They have proportional oval shape with
round heads. They are of blank white background decorated with very
expressive pictures of blue roses and flowers. Gold band separates heads
form main body. We do not know their makers. They are just marked with
‘Germany’ in green and incised model number 478 on the backside.
Container measures about 4 ½” x 3”
and stands 6 ¼” tall. Condition of one jar is immaculate with no cracks or
chips found. Colors are bright and vibrant. Gold has no wear. The second
item is rather for collection. It has crack. It displays fairly well.
