Little Lasse

Little Boy Buttoning Vest Figurine

Being offered on this auction is beautiful porcelain figurine made by Rörstrand of Sweden. In 1939 sculptor Edith Bjurström created for Rörstrand a series of magnificent sculptures of a little boy named ‘Lasse’. Since then they became the most collectible Scandinavian children figures. Figurine on this auction is one from this series. It features Little Lasse sitting and buttoning his traditional Nordic costume vest. Genuine texture of porcelain beautifully resembles details of his body. This is Blanc de Chine (all-white) figure. Looks splendid. Figurine is signed with standard Rörstrand triple crown mark on backside dating production of 1940s. Other marking is Bjurström’s personal signature ‘EB’ printed and incised on the backside as well as figurine number 112 incised.

Figurine measures approximately 2” x 1 ¾” and stands 4” tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks, chips or crazing found. Please take a look at our pictures to find out more about this item.
