Kullu Scarf Description: These superlative piece of art is the result of one of the oldest Indian handicraft techniques from a small town called Kullu in the city of Manali, India. Kullu is mainly famous for handloom crafts and shawls. These beautiful yet simplistic designed handlooms reflect the heritage of India’s northern region. Kullu handloom controls the economy of this mountainous region and the local weavers depend their livelihood on it. These scarfs are declared as an art of specific geography and region.

The patterns used are inspired by the tribal Himalayan design which portrays the vibrance of its rich culture. These designs are authentic and handed down through generations of handloom experts of the region. They are handwoven using traditional handloom weaving techniques with woolen yarns made of sheep wool which are collected from neighboring villages. The wools are thoroughly processed using manual techniques of sorting, shearing, cleaning, scouring, grading, spinning etc.

Each Shawl is a unique piece of art and has taken about 2-3 days of skilled weaver to finalize design and complete. These scarfs are light weight, extremely comfortable and warm for the colder times. They are very versatile and can be used as a scarf, wrap, travel blanket, shawl, couch or a sofa throw etc.
