Garth Williams four original initialed preliminary sketches, of a cat and ball, and, cat, ball and doll, with two initialed proofs, Baby's First Book, page thirteen, sixteen, and seventeen, with a copy of the book. All sketches initialed and drawn in pencil, 8 1/2" x 11": Sketch one, Cat and ball in outdoor setting; Sketch two, Cat and ball in outdoor setting more detail; Sketch three, Cat and ball with doll in outdoor setting; Sketch four, Cat and ball with doll in outdoor setting more detail. With 1950's page, torn from a magazine, of a cat and ball of yarn used as reference material. Two initialed proof pages of a doll with a vanity mirror, and a baby in a cradle with a cat, 7 3/4" x 13" (proof photos are cut off at ends because my scanner only goes to 11"). Book 6 1/4" x 6 1/2". Book is included only as an example of the final product. Part of an Archive of Garth Williams material. COA included.
Very Good All Some slight wear and pencil notations to drawings and proofs, minor paper loss at edge of sketch four, interior pages of book clean and intact.
