Hettier & Vincent

A beautiful and rare French art deco lamp by the famous Paris based maison Hettier et Vincent made around 1930. A nickel-plated base in solid brass or bronze holds a column and dome shaped shade in clear frosted molded-pressed glass.  The shade is a well-known model made by glass factory Verreries des Hanots. And was used for lamps and chandeliers both by H&V as well as by numerous other lighting firms during the interbellum. The glass column matching the deco of the shade and bronze base was specialy made by Hanots for H&V and is signed on the inside Hettier &Vincent-France. The lamp is represented on page #126 of the first supplement of the Hettier et Vincent product catalog of 1928 (the first supplement was issued in 1929).

The height of the lamp is 41,1 cm (16,2 inches) and the shade has a diameter of 19,8 cm (7,8"). It is in excellent condition. The 90 years old nickel plating is still in very good shape given its age. I rewired the lamp with cloth covered twisted cord. It now holds a European E14 socket. For the States Canada or Japan I will place an American candelabra base one and a US 2-prong plug.
