The legendary Screamin' Jay Hawkins' association with a label called Bizarre Records might be called perfection itself and Manifesto Records is proud to announce the release of Are YOU One Of Jay's Kids?, Screamin' Jay's entire recorded output on Bizarre Records from 1990-1994.
The title Are YOU One Of Jay's Kids? comes from the legend or fact that Jay reportedly fathered up to 75 children. Regardless of whether this is fact or fiction, the fact remains that Jay released 3 fabulous albums on Bizarre Records during this period, Black Music For White People, Stone Crazy and Somethin' Funny Goin' On. These albums helped put Jay back on the map as both a great live performer as well as a great recording artist.
Screamin' Jay Hawkins had a nearly 50 year recording career and was best known for his legendary recording "I Put A Spell On You," but his time with Bizarre Records in the 90s was a memorable one indeed that produced some of the best music of his entire career!
