Lovely old hooked rug, elaborate floral pattern, unusual wine-colored background. It is rectangular, 54" x 24.5", with a pretty central floral pattern. There is a 4" diameter stain that makes the pile look a little coarser and the color a little lighter at one end where the stain is. See photos 5, 8, 9 & 12. This does not detract much at all from the rug or even show much overall. There is a pull or two at one edge, easily fixed. Backside is brighter than front suggesting fading with time.

Hooking is tight and colors are gorgeous. Flowers include iris, hollyhocks, pansies, peonies, blue flowers, with leaves in lovely pastels. A very special piece.

This rug is part of a collection of hooked and braided rugs I have maintained over years, now being sold in a downsizing effort (as hard as these are to part with)!
