Elegant slant-front secretary bookcase by luxury furniture maker John Widdicomb. Dating to the 1970s, this slim piece provides excellent usable desk space as well as three generous drawers and shelves in the illuminated cabinet above. The piece is set on curved bracketed feet, and features hand-painted gilt decoration on all three sides. The bookcase section has fine, brass "chicken wire" screening on the door, with glass shelves within. The top has a dramatic curved top. The tear-drop style pulls are original and perfect.

In exceptional condition, with only a few minor touch-ups along the feet and skirt. The inside of the desk shows some minor wear, but the piece displays very well (the paint on the writing surface's hinges is flaking (Very Minor). The brass grill is near-mint to mint, with no breaks or any issues and is taut across the entire surface. The glass shelves are perfect. The drawers all slide smoothly.  Structurally perfect.

Measurements: The desk stands 80" tall. The top is 24" wide, and 9" deep. The base is 26" wide and 16" deep. The cornice is 26.25" wide and 10" deep. The desk flap is 24.25" wide, and when lowered, the work surface is 18" deep and 29" high.
