LIGHT DUTY CARABINER
- NEW - Bulk Stock, just a baggie, no fancy packaging to throw away
- Just a bit over 2 1/2" Overall length (scale in photos is inches)
- Light Duty ONLY - clip things to your backpack, kayaking/canoeing secure items inside vessel, clip waterbottles and gear to prevent "yardsales"
- DO NOT USE: For climbing support, securing overhead loads, supporting any humans or animals, as safety support or guiding ropes/lines under tension
- DO NOT CONFUSE: Yeah, you can use it to clip a chalk bag on, or to attach a throw bag to the deck of your kayak... but... BEWARE this could be a bad idea if you panic under pressure and grab this - instead of a real carabiner - and find yourself using it under load!!!
- Why buy this instead of a good one? $$$ I'll use 6-10 of these in a canoe to just hook stuff in, I give them to friends when they need one... no biggie, they're cheap!
- Why buy this instead of a really cheap one? SAFETY. A keychain style carabiner is almost sure to break under even the lightest of loads. A non-locking one CAN FURTHER CONTRIBUTE TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH because it is not guaranteed to break when you get it hung up on something, instead you may find yourself under water or otherwise compromised...
- What's your risk tolerance? $20-50 for a good locking carabiner would be ideal for every single item in your outfit; a couple bucks or less for these (and actually taking the 1.5 seconds to spin the lock in place) will often suffice, an even cheaper non-locking one has the potential to inspire Darwin jokes
- See photos: these are the actual carabiners being sold. I have them here in Massachusetts and ready to ship when you order
