This listing is for a black Military Overcoat that was worn in 'THE CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE (1936). It was made for the movie by Western Costume Company in 1935 for the movie released in 1936.
Most of the overcoats do not have the Red Shoulder tabs.
THE CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE starred ERROL FLYNN, OLIVIA de HAVILLAND, NIGEL BRUCE, DAVID NIVEN, PATRICK KNOWLES and many many others.
This extremely well made coat is done in a beautiful, very dense black wool. It is extremely thick and heavy. The coat has 5 British Military Buttons down the front and red wool epaulets with a smaller British Military buttons on each one. The pocket flaps are just that - flaps - there are no lower pockets. The center back seam is pleated below the waist then split with 3 buttons still intact. It is fully lined in a black brushed cotton.
This rare coat is a size 38. We have others in sizes 36 to 39 with a few 40's.It is in beautiful condition.
This is a fabulous 'DOUBLE' collectable - one for Military Collectables and one for Movie Collectables and needs to be seen to be appreciated.
