Vintage Military Navy/Marine Vickers Instruments 'Cooke S330' Theodolite W/ Case
This is a vintage theodolite with its original steel alloy protective carry case with a leather handle, the theodolite itself has a makers stamp:

'Vickers Instruments Ltd was called this from 1 January 1963 until 1 April 1965, when the company name was changed again. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s Vickers Instruments continued to develop a large range of surveying equipment and microscopes for which they won British design awards. They also made military items including rangefinders, gunsights and surveying equipment, adapted to military needs.'
The theodolite is attached to a rectangular base by a screw arm, this base has allen keys for adjustments. It sits on a triangular base that has a threaded insert which allows this item to be screwed onto the side of a ship.
The spyglass itself has several adjustable features for the focus etc.
