RAK2245 Pi HAT is a module with Raspberry Pi form factor. It can be plugged into Raspberry PI such as Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ as a complete RF front end of LoRa gateway. It supports eight channels and is available for LoRaWAN global frequency bands. The board is the smallest LoRaWAN gateway concentrator which integrates the Ublox MAX-7Q GPS Module and heat sink.

The board can provide low data rate LoRa radio links in ultra-fast speed. It is powered by a Semtech SX1301 transceiver concentrator that is capable of managing packets from many remotely dispersed end-points. Two Semtech SX125X are integrated for RF front end I/Q transceivers.

This kit comes with

  • 1 x RAK2245 Pi HAT
  • 1 x WisNode LoRa
  • 1 x Gluestick Monopole
  • 1 x micro-usb cable
  • 1 x Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+
  • 1 x 16GB TF Card
  • 1 x LoRa antenna
  • 1 x GPS antenna

The RAK2245 Pi HAT is a complete and cost-efficient LoRa gateway solution that can help you develop a full LoRa system. This is an economical way to create different solutions like smart grid, intelligent farm, and other IoT applications. It is also ideal for manufacturing small series that can expand into more applications

The RAK2245 Pi HAT is designed to provide GPS data over the UART interface. This is the case it is connected to another board (such as the RAK2013) that utilizes the UART interface, there will be limitations as far as GPS data goes.

However, in order to support LoRaWAN gateways with cellular connectivity on the Raspberry Pi, RAKwireless also designed a product which utilized a modified concentrator (RAK2243 Pi HAT) that uses the i2C bus to send GPS data.

Due to resource limitation at this stage, RAK2245 Pi HAT I2C edition (RAK2243) is not offered commercially. It is only used for the purpose of the RAK7243C gateway.

The standalone RAK2245 Pi HAT doesn't allow for the extension of its connectivity option with cellular. If for the purpose of your project you require a LoRaWAN gateway with cellular backhaul, we recommend you purchase the RAK7243C in case of the Raspberry P platform. Should you need an industrial class gateway with cellular connectivity, there is the Rak7249.

In case using the I2C for your GPS data stream is a must as you require the UART for another data stream, you can use the following modification manual. Note however that this is a hardware modification and is not reversible. RAKwireless is not responsible for any damage you might cause the product.

All RAK2245 configurations support 8 channels (for a number of global bands). With its ultra-compact design, it is believed to be the world's smallest loRaWAN gateway module including GPS and heatsink. It is based on a Semtech SX1301 transceiver, complemented by dual SX125x RF front end I/Q transceivers. In a manner of speaking, it follows the design of the RAK831, the same great performance with a smaller form factor and with improved cooling and boosted max output features.

We currently use three different third-party, hosted payment services – PayPal, Stripe and NoChex.

Your data is stored through the payment service's data storage, databases and the general application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

When ordering online we know that it can sometimes be difficult to find all the necessary and useful information about your order and the delivery times and methods. We have put this page together to help you understand our delivery process in a bit more detail.

    Delivery in the UK

UK parcels are sent using First Class Royal Mail and should be with you within 1 to 3 working days, including Saturdays. Please note that these times are not guaranteed by us and are just estimates from Royal Mail. For more information you can visit the Royal Mail website at www.royalmail.com.

Delivery in Europe and Rest of World

International deliveries are typically sent via Royal Mail Airmail Small Packets and should be delivered between 3 and 7 working days to Europe and 5 to 7 working days to the Rest of the World. Please note these times are not guaranteed by us and are just estimates from Royal Mail. For more information you can visit the Royal Mail website at www.royalmail.com.

Please be aware that in certain circumstances overseas deliveries can take up to 4 weeks to arrive – this is very rare, but it does happen occasionally. We also cannot be held responsible for any delays resulting from postponements due to customs clearance, strikes or political/civil unrest.

    Delivery duties

All orders sent outside of the UK and EU are shipped on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis and may be subject to local customs import duty which is charged on the value of the purchase. Payment of these fees is the sole responsibility of the customer. Payment of the duty charge is necessary for the release of your order from customs on arrival to your country.

If you refuse to pay any import duty levied against your shipment, or refuse delivery of an order, resulting in the shipment being returned to Pi Supply then all related returns charges plus a minimum administration charge of £10.00 (or equivalent currency at current exchange rate) may be charged against your final refund amount at our discetion. We are reasonable people (and we hope you are too!) and we always want you to have a happy experience, so we will do our best to come to a mutually agreeable outcome in such situations.

    Lost in transit

Royal Mail does not consider an item to be "lost in transit" until 14 days after shipping for UK orders or 25 days after shipping for international orders.

Therefore if you have not received your items after 4 weeks from receipt of the "Order Complete" email (or 2 weeks for UK orders) then please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Once we know you have not received your item we will investigate the matter fully both internally and with our carriers and will work with you to provide a mutually acceptable resolution.

    Other shipping info

Sometimes we will at our own discretion use a courier for higher priced items both for UK and international orders. We reserve the right to use whichever delivery service we like, without informing you of a change first. However if a signature will be required for your item due to it being delivered by a courier instead of by Royal Mail, we will endeavour to let you know.

We aim to despatch all packages within 1 working day of your order (excluding weekends) for in stock items. However, during busy periods this time-frame may be longer. If you have any questions about your order then don’t hesitate to contact us.

We do our very best to ensure that our items are accurately described and delivered in a good condition. As such, we really hope that you will be pleased with your purchases from Pi Supply. However we understand that there may be occasions when you will need to return items to us.

    If you change your mind

If you have simply changed your mind about any item ordered and you wish to return it then in line with the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR) and the Consumer Contracts Regulations (CCR) you can do so provided you inform us of your decision within 14 working days of receipt of the order. The items must not be used and must be 'as new' when returned to us with all original packaging in-tact such that it is in a saleable condition. Once you've informed us that you wish to return goods under the DSR/CCR you have 28 calendar days to do so, at your own expense. Once the item is received, we'll issue a full refund for the product received and the outward shipping cost.

    Items damaged in transit

If any items were damaged in transit we ask that you report it to us within 7 working days. If the items are visibly damaged on receipt it's best to sign the carrier's delivery note accordingly if possible. Damaged items should be returned in their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation. Once received back into our warehouse we'll issue a replacement or full refund via your original payment method. If return shipment is necessary we will of course cover this cost.

    Items faulty on arrival

If your items are faulty on arrival, you have 30 calendar days in which to inform us of the fault. Items should be returned in their original packaging complete with all accessories and documentation. Once we have verified the fault, we'll issue a replacement or full refund to you via your original payment method. We will also cover the cost of shipping the item back to us.

    Incorrect or missing items

Whilst we do our very best to make sure your order is correctly fulfilled in our warehouse our staff are only human and so on the odd occasion mistakes do happen. If you receive the incorrect items or are missing an item from your order please inform us within 7 working days of receipt so we can work with you to rectify the situation. For missing items we will ship the missing products out to you immediately, and in the case of incorrect items we will typically ask you to ship the items back to us (at our expense) and send the correct items out to you by return.

    Unexpected delivery

If you received an order from us which you were not expecting, we would be obviously very grateful if you could return it to us so we can re-route it to its rightful home! The best way to do this is to take it to your local post office and send it to the returns address listed below. Please get in touch with us first via email and we will of course be happy to pay the return shipping.

    Need to return an item?

Simply email us via ebay. Please note that you will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item (unless the items were damaged or defective on arrival, or we sent you the wrong product).

We know that sometimes it can be difficult to get to the Post Office during their opening hours, so for UK customers it is also possible to return your item using CollectPlus. This convenient service allows you to print out a shipping label in your own time and drop it off at a variety of local stores, early ’til late, 7 days a week.

    ABOUT PI SUPPLY

The business was founded in 2008 as a hobby car audio business under the name Raamaudio UK Ltd. In 2012, founder Aaron Shaw got his first Raspberry Pi and the company changed direction.
