Vintage Leather Purse
Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this vintage leather purse or shoulder bag. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This saddle bag style purse is made from brown leather. The color is medium brown with dark brown edges and coarse brown stitching; the strap, which is partially braided, is also dark brown. The flap has tooled motifs which are vaguely Native American in style, including blue painted accents. Underneath the flap, there are additional tooled motifs. This bag has an outrageous metal turn clasp and back plate. Inside the bag, there is a brown vinyl pocket. Excluding the strap, the bag measures approximately 9 7/8 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches tall by 4 1/4 inches thick. Including the brass rings which affix it to the bag, the total strap length from end to end is approximately 36 3/4 inches long. When hanging, the bottom of the bag is about 25 inches from the top of the strap. Unpacked, this piece weighs 1 pound 11.9 ounces. This would be an awesome addition to a collection of vintage accessories.
Identification
This bag has no markings to indicate the maker or the exact age. It is believed to be circa 1970s.
Condition
This bag looks good overall, with wear from use. The leather has marks, scuffs, and scratches from use. The vinyl interior pocket has two small rips where it attaches to the inside of the purse, as shown in Photos 10 and 11. The clasp has some finish wear, but it functions properly. The other metal parts also show wear. For the photos, I stuffed the interior of the bag with paper, as it is somewhat sunken in when empty. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying.
Terms of Sale
1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when the item is picked up; do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
