The Escort Mag Mount is commonly used on the Escort IX, Escort IXc, Max 360c, and Redline 360 and other Escort Detectors.  I've been told it also works with the Uniden R8, but haven't tested it myself.  This is a bracket to be used in conjunction with the parts from an OEM Mag Mount.

This mount was specifically designed for those who have IRR windshields but it's uses aren't limited there.  It can be used to mount any Escort detector which uses the Mag Mount system using bonding tape to the windshield.  This creates a more streamlined, lower profile than the OEM Mag Mount.

With IRR windshields the detector has to be mounted at the very top in the black dotted area of the windshield.  This allows the radar detector to do it's thing without interference from the IRR coating.  The original Mag Mount is too big to get up into the top of the windshield so I designed this. 

Here's the details:

1 - IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE MAGNET OR THE DETECTOR IN THE PICTURES!  You must use the magnet, nut, bolt and washer from your original mag mount and use them with this bracket. 

2 - It comes with genuine 3M VHB 5952 tape adhered to it. Specifically made for plastic to glass automotive bonding.

3 - There are 2 versions, one allowing the nut to be positioned on the left side and another with it on the right (just like the OEM).  This allows easier access to the nut if, for example, you get the nut on the left when positioned close to the rear view mirror housing on the driver side.

4 - Made with black Polycarbonate.  Polycarbonate is strong, heat and chemical resistant.  It's a production grade material.

5 - The tab that's pictured at the bottom is an aid to align the mount in the headliner.  This tab slides under the headliner while the vertical tab bumps against it for easy alignment.  If you are mounting this away from the headliner, the tab can be removed with wire snips or you can just leave it as it won't interfere with anything. 

6 - The width of the mount is the same width as the detector, maximizing the available bonding surface.

7 - NOW Shipping with a FREE custom designed nut wrench so that you can easily loosen and tighten the nut when it's up close to the headliner.

When applying to the windshield please let the tape take hold.  Per 3M this requires 72 hours before putting the detector on the mount.  This ensures that the tape is fully bonded to the glass.  The tape side pre-placed on the mount will already have a full 72 hour bond.  In addition, we now use adhesion promoters (3M primer 94) to add extra strength to the polycarbonate side to ensure the tape won't come off. 

Most of the time I ship same day.  If for some reason the order is for more than I have made it will be an additional day handling time to manufacture the mount.
