Professor Severus Snape was an English half-blood wizard who played an extremely important role in both of the Wizarding Wars against Voldemort. He was an instructor at Hogwarts and taught Harry and his friends in the art of Potion Making. In the films, Snape was played by the late great legendary actor, Alan Rickman.
