Available is a very rare two page sports section that came from an October 6, 1906 edition of a St. Louis Republican Newspaper that features news and photos covering the third running of the Vanderbilt Cup Auto race.
The third Vanderbilt Cup Race is considered the most competitive in the series featuring 17 cars from France, USA, Germany and Italy. The field included several of best European drivers including; Vincenzo Lancia, Camille Jenatzy, Felice Nazzaro and Louis Wagner. The 10 laps of the 29.1 course made it the longest Vanderbilt Cup ever held on Long Island. The race attracted a huge crowd estimated at 150,000 to 200,000. The finish of the race was marked by the use of a checkered flag for the first time.
These newspaper pages are in good condition. However, the pages should still be treated as delicate and handled with the utmost care upon receipt. These newspaper pages originally came from a bound library volume and exhibits typical chipping and paper loss on the edges. Additional minor paper loss could occur during shipment.

These pages will be placed in a clear plastic sleeve and gently rolled and inserted into a sturdy cardboard tube. Single newspaper pages can be shipped via First Class Mail. Please specify if expedited Priority Mail is desired. I will combine shipping but additional newspaper pages may require Priority Mail shipping due to total package weight.
