Oops!
This 1972 road map sure wouldn't have
been much help to a motorist trying to find his way around Indiana!
- It opens to 18" x 27" and is
completely blank on one side!
- It was published by the Shell Oil Company in 1972, and
the photograph
on the front cover shows the Conley's
Ford Covered Bridge in Parke County. The date 1906 and the name of the
contractor, J. Lawrence Van Fossen, are displayed on the boards above
the opening.
- It does have inset plans of Fort Wayne, South Bend,
Evansville, Terre Haute, metropolitan Indianapolis, and the
Hammond-Gary-Michigan City area on what would have been the reverse
side
of the state map had it been printed.
- And it is in excellent condition,
bright, crisp, and clean,
with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans
and feel free to ask any questions.
- Note: We may also have a 1972 Shell road map of Indiana
with the map where it is supposed to be, listed as item # 222714029496
